1000fires 1000 Fires is an independent rock band based in Atlanta, Georgia. They formed in the summer of 2000 when the members sought to create an honest, energized and musically focused band. With the loss of one member and the subsequent discovery of another, 1000 Fires continues to dig deeper into a constantly evolving wall of sound they consider to be their own. Influenced by many bands past and present hailing from cities such as Washington DC, Chicago, Richmond, Louisville, Atlanta and other fine cities; 1000 Fires continues the struggle to carve their own niche in an ever expanding sea of wonderfully powerful musical sound. A sometimes quiet 1000 Fires silently weaves in and out of the listener’s consciousness only to suddenly reappear again with viscous ear piercing intricacies while demanding control with voices sounding the call to a new anthem. In many ways 1000 Fires builds itself up only to just tear itself apart again down to its very foundation. While rising from the ashes of musical ruin, 1000 Fires returns to reaffirm the ideal of true musical freedom and is expressed through the bodies, hearts and minds of those who live, breathe and burn 1000 Fires.
13 Stories “We’re unapologetically pop,” says Cheri D of Atlanta-based band 13 Stories. “Our name is about a place people don’t go to often enough, but maybe shouldn’t be afraid of. A lot of people don’t know what to make of us, like they don’t know what to make of the idea of the 13th floor, but it’s okay to just go see a band that makes you dance your ass off before you leave.”

Cloak & Dagger Dating Service A review of CDDS by Jessica of The Closer:
"To watch Cloak & Dagger Dating Service perform is similar to being lit on fire-- a fire made of flames of single notes that come together to engulf you in one big ball of burning melodic awesome. After they finished their first song, I couldn't hear anything but the blood in my ears. From the time Mysterio first strums this thing-- this guitar-shaped thing that bleeds cold-hearted metal fury all over everything-- to the last mind-bending ashes of the song, you can't think of anything but how different your life is going to be by the time their last tune is over. At any given point throughout their performance, I was fully willing and ready to pull the arms off of any of the members, and quit my own band to take their place. Anyone's. Do you hear me? I would give my right arm to be able to call myself a part of this hardcore space ship. This space ship with a crew of BADASS space commanders navigating their way into everyone's head at warp speed. Hell, I would give Cameron's right arm to be a part of it. Everything about this band simply screams, 'We are punk rock BADASSES... Climb aboard our bus to the moon!' And it screams with an incredibly unique and ear-catching voice, akin to that of lead-singer Sarah Bolen-- whose feather boa-ed neck encases some of the most appealing vocal chords to come out of Atlanta in a long time. A very long time. Equally perplexing is the rythm section, composed of Eric, the 'Metal Drummer of Doom,' and bassist Evan Vaughn, who are always there to keep the music sold and interesting. Few drummers possess Eric's BADASS double bass skills, and no former bassist of CDDS has matched Evan's superb ability to both show up AND not suck. The dynamic guitar duo of Mysterio and Cameron Vaughn could be accurately compared to a big giant alien monster thing. A big giant alien monster thing that comes up from behind, and before you can say, 'Take this silver knife to save your neck!' you've been thrashed into a puddle of big giant alien monster acid spit, which turns your skin inside out and leaves you crawling back for more. And when you hear someone shout, 'FIND YOUR SAFE PLACES EVERYBODY!' you better run for cover, because Mysterio is about to lay down some of the most ridiculous moves you'll ever see someone with a guitar in their hands pull off. More than once I found myself shielding my face, instinctively anticipating the melodic beast in Mysterio's hands to fly beyond his grasp and blow up the world. Nothing short of nuclear holocaust can adequately prepare you for the explosion Cloak & Dagger Dating Service will send your way, and nothing can prepare you for your heartbreak when the last echoes of their set have vanished and the amps are shut off. They will rock you hard, for good or for awesome."
There you have it folks, CDDS=Hardcore New Wave Dance Metal Awesome Power Rock, and Devil+Phone=Heart.

Cotton & the PayTones A huge variety of music, avoiding the "low hanging fruit" of typical "cover" bands. Bluesy rock, Acoustic, Adult alternative, Comedy, Song parodies... We put on a show that people will remember!
Crashing at Dawn crashing at dawn began as a songwriting project that combined the talents of: guitarist/songwriter Nick Kirk, bassist, Matt Utterback, drummer, Chris Westbrook, and vocalist/lyricist, Billy Wilkerson. The quartet collaborated to create a sound that had the intensity of rock, the groove of funk, and the tonalities of jazz/soul. Because Matt and Nick were students at Berklee colege of Music in Boston, Ma., and the other members lived in Atlanta, Ga., distance was an obstacle. Songwriting was accomplished by mailing recordings back and forth and practices were held once a month or whenever Matt and Nick came home. The end product is an intense rock band with funk rhythms and jazz harmonies. crashing at dawn's music has been influenced by artists such as Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, Incubus, and a host of others too numerous to write. The band now resides in Atlanta, Ga. and is beginning to turn heads in the local music scene in and around Atlanta.
Crashing@Dawn Crashing@Dawn consists of four friends who have played music together for years. Stylistically our music spans from funk/rock to jazz to just plain rock.
Crazy Anglos Stew up a base of mild insanity; throw in some boyish good looks and a seasoned grasp of American jive; add a healthy pinch of antidisestablishmentarianism combined with down-home southern charm, mixed with an uncanny ability to turn every show into a pulsating expletive of a party. Finally, top off this strange brew with five friends from metro Atlanta. Meet the Crazy Anglos.
Formed in 2002, Atlantic Record's Crazy Anglos are an Atlanta success story. This five-member funk/rap/rock/reggae group melds the energy and rawness of a punk band with the ability to deliver complex and varied songs. Anyone who has had the opportunity to see the Anglos live can attest to the fact the band is aptly named, these are some crazy white boys.
The key to the Crazy Anglos' charisma is the pure energy and camaraderie of the band, combined with raw talent and the motivation to make every session, whether it be in the studio, an intimate setting with a group of old friends, or onstage in front of hundreds of fans,an opportunity to instigate an explosive funkdafied groove meltdown.
The Anglos bring a dynamic, in-your-face, *rack/reggae fusion sound, which shows an elemental blend of each musicians' diverse influences, ranging from Cypress Hill and Outkast, to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fugazi, Mos Def and James Brown, and also include Beethoven, Miles Davis, and Bob Marley. The Crazy Anglos are fronted by vocalist Ryan Bard and MC Bryan Bozeman, who work off of each other to create a layered vocal delight that is both edgy and melodic. Brandon Parker, a former jam band guitarist and punk rock aficionado, brings 'da funk' on the guitar and Adam "Corndog" Corn's intricate bass lines round out the bands bottom end. Drummer Kevin Compton is a young prodigy who Atlanta-area reviewers tout as "supplying the deadliest beats in the South".
The Crazy Anglos' passionate commitment to their craft of, as put eloquently by Compton, "rocking the f*cking roof off" is evidenced in the band's expanding demographic-crossing and barrier-breaking fan base.

Derringer Derringer is an entrancing blend of everything good that is rock n roll. Influenced by the glory days of guitar rock, the band's music closely resembles Led Zep, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Hendrix, the Black Crowes and so many others. Not adhering to the standards of bands today, they play the music they want. The music is played for the sheer aesthetic value, not to please a crowd. The band consists of Matt "Higgy" Higginbotham on drums, Chad Ross on bass, Daniel Van Galder playing lead and slide guitars and mandolin, and Reid Garner on guitar, harmonica, and vocals.

G' Vegas After years of musical loneliness the magic of the Internet brought together Art Wood and Jason Green. They have spent the majority of the past six months writing pop punk progressions more sugary then a box of children's cereal, and with more memorable hooks than a redneck's den. Paul Weissert and Keith Bouchard joined the duo shortly after to create a rock and roll experience what you won't forget. With a live show that includes sweaty gyrating girls, drunken and angry midgets and more free shots then a Heineken taste test survey; their intensity is paralleled only by a room of college boys taking part in a mass fraternity hazing. Or would that be a communion? G' Vegas pack more swagger into one live show then other bands have been able to do on entire tours. G' Vegas is here to make you forget your problems, for forty-five minutes at a time.

HighFlightSociety If the biography of HighFlightSociety were a novel, we would be beginning chapter 4 by now. We just got signed to Selectric Records out of Franklin, Tenn. and will have our first full-length album out soon. But if this is chapter 4, where did HFS begin?
In December 2001 Scotty, John and I were playing as a three piece after two members of our previous band had left. I had been singing but wasnt comfortable handling vocal duties and decided we needed a front man. We only played a handful of shows and recorded a quick demo during our time as a three piece and didnt really take the band that seriously.
John knew Jason, who was looking to join a new band since his old one broke up, and suggested we give him a try. At our tryout with Jason we ran through some old songs and even started writing our first song together. The chemistry was there.
After Jason came onboard as the new lead singer of HighFlightSociety the momentum began to pick up and we started taking the band seriously. We played our first show together in early 2002 and soon after got a manager. We all felt like God had given us our talents to be used for him and we were going to give it all we had.
Just a few months later producer and ex-Audio Adrenaline guitarist Barry Blair (Bleach, Slingshot 57) contacted us to record our first demo with Jason. We went and had a blast in Nashville for a few days and recorded three songs with Barry in his home studio. It was good times and a great learning experience but our music was still evolving and the power-pop sound of the songs on that demo quickly became obsolete in our eyes.
We were still playing shows around the Southeast and selling as many copies of our homemade demo as possible and began tracking more songs at a studio in our hometown. The songs had definitely gotten better and more focused. By this time Jason had found his rock voice and began playing rhythm guitar as well.
Around that time our manager signed us up for a battle of the bands at Atlantafest 2003 at Six Flags Over Georgia. That turned out to be a day to remember. We beat out 35 other bands and got to be the opening act on the main stage later that afternoon.
That is also where we met ex DC Talk bassist and Sonic Flood co-founder Otto Price. Otto, who was a judge in the competition that day and is now known for producing bands like Barlow Girl, was into HFS and produced two songs for us at the Groove Room in Nashville later that year. We took those two songs and paired them with remastered versions of songs we had recorded back home and released our first official EP, From Far Above Somewhere.
The win at Atlantafest meant that we advanced to the final round of the Christian Music Talent Search in Nashville, which was a nationwide culmination of all the winners from the previous round. Us, along with two other artists were selected as the winners of the competition out of the more that 6,000 bands that originally entered. Our prize was a development deal with Essential Records.
We also met producer and Christian music legend Dino Elefante at the competition. Dino was scouting for talent and showed great enthusiasm for our band.
Not much came of the deal with Essential, which proved to be a good thing - as we had developed a harder sound by that time and likely would have been stifled by a label mainly known for pop and contemporary music.
When our contract with Essential was over and after several more months of talks with other labels, Dino again contacted us. We liked what he had to say and felt that Selectric understood the direction we wanted to go with our music.
Shortly after performing a showcase for Dinos crew at the Sound Kitchen in Cool Springs, Tenn. we signed a contract with Selectric - February 2005 after a show at a church in Dallas, Ga., the site of our very first performance with Jason.
Have we come full circle? Maybe. But after all that has happened, this is still just the beginning. Welcome to the next circle.
Hightide Blues Don’t miss the chance to hear the band that is being called the new southern rock kings, Hightide Blues, along with special guests, Sam Thacker and The Revivalists performing live at Smith’s Olde Bar on Sunday, May 24. Their sound is described as a throw back to southern rock with a modern twist that has been compared to artists such as the Black Crowes, Ryan Adams and Ben Harper. Growing in popularity, Hightide Blues has shared the stage with national acts such as Sara Bareilles, Zac Brown Band, Sister Hazel, The Whigs, JJ Grey & Mofro, Dead Confederate, Graham Colton, Matt Costa, Karl Denson, and many more. Hightide Blues’ delivery of acoustic and electric guitars with a hard-hitting rhythm section has lead to sold out shows all over the Southeast and they won’t be stopping there.

IDLE YETI IDLE YETI is a Rock N' Roll band out of Georgia. All members are driven by classic-inspired ROCK N' ROLL. Taking influence from all that was and some that is still considered Rock N' Roll, IDLE YETI writes melody and riff-driven rock songs, blending musical inspiration stretching back to the Stones. An Idle Yeti show is hard, heavy, and sure to kick you in the ass and leave your ears ringing the way they should when you leave a real rock show.
ILL MIC The band originated with Tim Collins, Joel Adams, and Mike Baily in August of 1998. They started writing songs and were looking for a singer. They stumbled onto Shon via the Internet, and when he walked into the audition in February of 1999 he was a perfect fit. The name decided on was illiterate mic, because Mike was illiterate. The band rehearsed and wrote material for a few months, and before their first show in July of 1999, Mike left the band. They were ready to start playing the Atlanta circuit at that time, but needed a drummer. Lori was going to help out until a replacement was found, and needless to say when she sat down behind the drums, it was magic. The band immediately started playing shows at various clubs in Atlanta. Joel left the band in August of 2000 and in walks Andy Cannon. Andy joined the band in October of 2000 and since then it has been a roller coaster! The band decided to skim down the name of the band to ILL MIC and started re-vamping material. The first show with Andy was on March 9, 2001 and after that preparations were made to go into the studio. During the summer of 2001 while still playing the Atlanta circuit hard, ILL MIC recorded their self-titled debut. The CD released at the Library in Atlanta on October 6, 2001.
Since the release of the CD, it has started popping up everywhere from Backstage Music and all Atlanta area Wherehouse Music stores, to on-line at amazon.com, cdbaby.com and of course at illmic.com. ILL MIC was Jim Beam’s featured band of the month in April 2002 and played the Jim Beam backroom session sponsored by 99X. ILL MIC joined the Recording Academy late in 2001 and met DJ Bridgers with Big Ben Entertainment at an Academy meeting. Through Big Ben Entertainment, ILL MIC was selected by the Armed Forces Entertainment to go to the Middle East to perform for the troops. Just before the tour ILL MIC played at the Hi Fi Buys Amphitheater opening up for Dio, Deep Purple, and the Scorpions. And released the long awaited M-16 single. ILL MIC then spent the month of July playing shows in various locations all over the Middle East for our troops. They also played for the sailors and marines onboard the USS WASP in the Arabian Sea.
Immediately upon their return ILL MIC played at the Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta GA. They also played at the battle of the bands sponsored by 99x at the Hard Rock Café. ILL MIC continues to play the southeastern circuit. And are working on new material for the next record which is scheduled for release in the spring of 2003.

Inner City Orchestra The Inner City Orchestra was formed in 2004 when Kevin DeMarco, Mike Galdos, and Mike Powell met at the Georgia Institute of Technology. All three of them came from diverse backgrounds ranging from rock to jazz to hip-hop to blues.
The Inner City Orchestra has a completely new sound that is difficult to place in genre; however, they have been known to play Rock, Metal, Indie, and even Blues shows. Some have compared their music to a blend of the Foo Fighters, Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Satriani.
The Inner City Orchestra's wild, energetic antics onstage make them a crowd favorite; especially when the lead guitarist plays the guitar behind his back, or his head, or with his teeth!
JACKHAMMER Based out of Atlanta, Georgia and hitting the local scene last year, this band of four has been creating an image for themselves as a guitar driven type of band that plays very loudly.
When you come to one of their shows, you are entertained by the look of leather and chains, eyeliner and loads of atitude. As quoted by frontman and guitarist Scratch, "When you come to one of our shows, we will Jackhammer your soul and if we don't, we weren't doing our jobs."
"When I go to a show, I want to be entertained with loud guitars, gut wrenching bass, and drums that will rattle your soul. I think that the art of the guitar solo has disappeared, and it is my job to bring it back. I also want to understand the lyrics, that is important to me" as metioned by Scratch.
Come out and get JACKHAMMERED!

Leading Edge
Legends of Rodeo An American rock band from the Sunshine State.
Leroy Justice Like a roadhouse ghost rattling his chains, Leroy Justice's debut album, Revolutions Son, comes to life. Their revolution is the same one rock n roll has been fighting since the blues and country bedded down together to water the tree of musical liberty with the blood of true patriots. Leroy Justice opens a vein thats colored like the Black Crowes, Marah, Old 97s and vintage Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Its roots music that never strays too far from the garage or an open whiskey bottle.
Chief lyricist, hickory smoked vocalist and shred-tastic guitarist Jason Gallagher discusses the bands lawman name, It has a good mix of soul (ala Leroy) and Americana (ala Justice). Leroy is the name of our friend Stoney's father. Literally. He owns an auto body shop and couple of poker machines, and plays a wicked telecaster. He lives in South Carolina. We wanted a good name. He has one of the best. We used it.
From the opening one-two punch of Revolutions Son and Bender on through slow burners like Belt Buckle and Hey Baby Its Me, their debut mixes youthful energy with a surprising confidence that recalls Lynyrd Skynyrd, MOFRO and Little Feat all groups that seemed to arrive fully formed, ready to use dead solid songs & heartfelt playing to whip you up something that sticks to your ribs. The young Bruce Springsteen in his arc towards Born To Run also springs to mind. Leroy Justice vibrates with the same kind of promise these powerful ancestors had.
It's soulful rock. Like American rock. Like rip your heart out and drink it down rock. It's the rock we grew up on, says Gallagher. Theres a distinctly Muscle Shoals vibe, especially when Anise White belts it like a 60s Atlantic Records soul sister behind Gallagher. When you find out theyre from New York City it throws you for a bit of a loop. When I think of Southern rock, I think of confederate flags and long hair and harmonizing guitar leads. We aren't really into all that, offers Gallagher. We are into playing in the pocket and kind of can't listen to indie/pop/metal rock though. THAT's kind of southern.
When I came to NYC, I was writing ballad/folk songs. When the band started, everything got louder. In a good way, Gallagher recalls. There's just something about the city that makes you want to make people shake their asses, sweat a little bit, and raise their drinks and yell YEAH. Our sound adjusted, and there was no looking back.
Bassist Bradley Wegner further excavates their sound, My influences draw more from the R & B end of things. I learned how to play music through Parliament/Funkadelic, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Beastie Boys, Taj Mahal and Motown. The day I bought my first bass a got home and pieced together Rage Against the Machine "Take the Power Back". Walking side by side with all of this were always great songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and Blind Melon. Neil Young's Harvest and Harvest Moon were the Cocoa Puffs of my childhood.
The band performs regularly in New York and is branching out into the Northeast. An upcoming appearance at Austins South By Southwest Festival will introduce them to an even wider audience. In the meantime, theyll be bending an elbow and breaking hearts. Its what rock & roll outlaws do.
Leroy Justice has participated in plenty of bad behavior in our time, says Gallagher. We just think bad behavior creates some of the best, as well as some of the most regrettable times in our lives. Both are worthy of a good rock song.

Six local Atlanta bands are performing to raise money for Libertarian Party outreach projects in Georgia.
“After bringing out over 100 people and raising over $1,000 for the Georgia Libertarian Party last fall, it was obvious to us that we would be doing this again,” says Mark Augustyn, founder of thinkLIBERTARIAN. “Last fall we witnessed how the power of music can be utilized to spread the Libertarian message to a whole new group of interested, curious, and young minds here in metro Atlanta, while raising much needed funds at the same time.”
“Since joining the thinkLIBERTARIAN world last year, it is events like this that really have us excited. With people thirsty for alternative political ideas, it is incredibly important to keep reaching out in unique and creative ways to spread the message of limited government and individual responsibility,” says Mark Solomon, co-owner of thinkLIBERTARIAN.
To be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Smith’s Olde Bar (1578 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, GA, 404.875.1522), the show will feature performances by: The Judies, Like Clockwork, The Lord Is My Shotgun, Heather Luttrell, Pistolero, and Fisher Meehan.
Doors will open at 7, the music will start at 7:30, and the cover charge will be $10. Door proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Libertarian Party of Georgia.
Along with the bands, the following organizations will have tables at the concert: thinkLIBERTARIAN, Libertarian Party of Georgia, Georgians for FAIRTAX, Secure Our Future, Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), Citizens Against Marijuana Prohibition (CAMP), and more to be announced. Local modern rock station 99X has placed the event on their promotions calendar and will have a promotional van at the concert as well.
Mark goes on to say “Our goal is simple: bring out more people and raise more money for the Libertarian Party of Georgia!”

Liquid Jungle Liquid Jungle is the combined effort of four musicians creating ferocious grooves through a sonic mixture of hard rock, funk, and reggae. The resulting music is full of hypnotic riffs, ethereal melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and a distinctive style designed to open minds, move feet, and shake the soul.
Identical twin front men, Josh and Graham Yoder, have spent their entire lives together; they’ve shared a room as well as creative minds and a genuine love of music and art. The two began writing songs together at 11; by 15, the boys were performing at clubs throughout Atlanta. Now 21, they’ve mastered a unique style demonstrated by their incredible chemistry on stage. Josh describes this phenomena as “a sort of telepathic communication. We finish each other’s thoughts constantly and during improv, we follow each other without even realizing it.”.
In 2001, they recruited close friend and guitarist, Andres Miller, to enhance the band’s musical depth. In addition to his prowess on the guitar, Andres has further expanded the sound with his impressive keyboard and vocal skills.
In the spring of 2004, they were introduced to Jason Monseur, who now is the rhythmic force driving Liquid Jungle’s sound. With Monseur in place behind the drums, the band is free to explore, experiment, and grow musically.
Liquid Jungle’s live performances have been creating quite a stir in the Atlanta, Athens, and Milledgeville music scenes. Their diverse style has made them Atlanta favorites at the Brandyhouse, Ten High, and Vinyl – 3 venues with completely different personalities and crowds. Their reputation has taken them to Smith’s Olde Bar, The Masquerade, and The Hard Rock Café. They’ve made their presence known in Athens with well-received shows at Tasty World, Last Call, and DT’s Downunder. In Milledgeville, fans greet them enthusiastically at Loco’s and Amici.
Having shared the stage with Johnny Neel from The Allman Brothers, George Porter Jr. of the Funky Meters, Matt Abts of Govt. Mule, and Brian Stoltz from Bob Dylan’s band, is affirmation of Liquid Jungle’s current success and foreshadows an even brighter future. In the words of Todd Ziegler, Atlantashows.com, “The chemistry among the members generated results which would make an alchemist jealous… each plays with the chops and musicality which would make schooled pros simmer with envy…”.
Little Wing Little Wing is a real rock n' roll band. They bring passion and emotion into their own brand of rock'n roll, fused from all different genres and influences. With every performance, Little Wing delivers everything they have and leaves the audience and themsleves wrung out but wanting more. Little Wing brings real rock n' roll. No gimmicks. No excuses. Just rock.
LooSe ShoEs Band Rock to the music of Lynyard Skynyard and the Doobie Brothers, get down with the blues of Bonnie Raitt and Clapton, island hop with Jimmy Buffet, then wrap it all up in LooSe ShoEs original tunes and you’ll have yourself a jammin’ night of great vocals and instrumentals.
Lou Martyr Collaborating with several artists in many genres including Electronica and Soul, and most recently leaving the Experimental Rock band known as "Sovus Radio", Lou finally branches out to form an opinion of his own. Fusing together different genres, he hopes to not only please his old fans, but also garner a new group of listeners with open minds and open ears.

Night After Dark An Influencial Rock band out of Peachtree City,GA.
Nillah Nillah is a powerful mix of pop, rock & good vibrations: Originally a power-pop power-trio from the hills of east Tennessee, Nillah hooked up with Atlanta-based Shut-Eye Records, relocated, and broke onto the Atlanta music scene with a bang with the 1999 release of Heart Attack Special. Rave reviews and intense touring followed, including a cover story in Southeast Performer magazine and appearances at Atlanta's Music Midtown festival, New York's CMJ Music Marathon, and a memorable month-long stand at Atlanta's famous Star Bar. Nillah soon re-entered the studio, and with the assistance of Armand John Petri (Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs) and Rodney Mills (REM, Stone Temple Pilots), produced its breakthrough, The Power of Pop. The record showcased the band's guitar-based power pop and Elisabeth Eickhoff's addictive vocal melodies. The Power of Pop immediately moved up the CMJ charts upon its release in early 2002, and MTV licensed the use of several cuts from the album for use on its hit reality show, "Sorority Life". Nillah continued to play to enthusiastic crowds around the Southeast, and was featured in live performances and interviews on stations such as Atlanta's 99X, Z93, and WRAS 88.5. The fact that the band has been welcomed on mainstream commercial alternative, rock, and independent student-run radio is a testament to accessibility of the music, as well as the band's friendly reputation. In the summer of 2002, Nillah welcomed the addition of a fourth member, guitarist Justin Sonfield. The addition re-energized Nillah's live sound and complimented the more ambitious arrangements and melodies evident in its newest material, currently being recorded for release as The Sun Show in Fall 2004!
No More Kings You'll be finding snippets of No More Kings' catchy songs about zombies, Charlie Brown characters, Knight Rider, and The Karate Kid (www.sweeptheleg.com) stuck in your head long after you've listened to them. Their music echoes this ability to swing between the silly and the serious.
"No More Kings", the self-titled first major release, is an explosive party-in-a-box, full of pop culture references and quirky lyrics. “This album is very character-driven, very story-based,” front man Pete Mitchell says.
Pete Mitchell calls No More Kings' first album a “thank-you letter to the 80's,” a perfect theme for someone who claims that he (and his music) were “born in the 70's, raised in the 80's, and perfected in the 90's.”

Sam Holt: Guitars, Vocals
Grady Upchurch: Bass, Vocals
Lee Schwartz: Drums, Vocals
Learning to play a musical instrument requires endless hours of practice and performance, but it also involves watching and listening critically to the music of your contemporaries. The three members of Atlanta, Georgia's Outformation consider the thousands of live concerts they've collectively attended over the past twenty years as a massive musical education. Grady Upchurch, bassist for the two-year old band, describes it as "learning through osmosis". They've been in the front row at many a rock show, from smoky clubs to packed arenas, watching guitarists' fret work, drummers' feet, and the subtle language of quick glances and nods shared between band members.
Grady Upchurch and guitarist Sam Holt began playing together in the late eighties in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They ended up in Atlanta a couple of years later and eventually met drummer Lee Schwartz. In 2002 the three started jamming together regularly, and Outformation ultimately developed out of those sessions. Around the same time, Mike Houser, the late guitarist for Widespread Panic, began to encourage Holt to further pursue his musical career.
From 2000 until Mike Houser's departure from the band in 2002, Sam worked as his chief guitar technician. Holt had admired Houser as a fan for a decade and was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him. Holt honed his technical skills on the road, but he was also able to absorb the band's live improvisational nuances. He recalls, "When I would go see Widespread Panic it was all about getting close so I could see how [Houser] would play. It just intrigued the hell out of me. Then I got to know him…and the one thing he gave me more than anything was confidence." It was Houser's vote of confidence that would land Holt on stage with Jerry Joseph later that year at a Georgia Theater gig in Athens, Georgia.
With Widespread Panic on a touring hiatus, Holt has had more time to work on other projects, such as a studio and live albums with Jerry Joseph and most importantly, his own band. Since the band's inception, Outformation has toured extensively through the Southeast and they plan to devote the next year to playing live as much as possible. Although only two years old, the band has performed in opening spots at theater size venues and has shared the stage with such luminaries as Jojo Hermann (WSP), Rev. Jeff Mosier (ARU, Blueground Undergrass) and Johnny Neel (Allman Bros., X2.)
Outformation called upon their friend Eli Akins to produce and engineer their self-titled debut EP. Recorded in December of 2003 at Atlanta's Southern Living At Its Finest studio, the album consists of five original songs and a cover of a song written by Mike Houser. On the EP, the band stays true to its roots in Southern rock, drawing from influences such as Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule and Marshall Tucker band.
When it comes to the songwriting and vocal duties, it's truly a collective effort within the trio. Some songs, like the EP's opening track "Unwound", are developed and performed collaboratively, with each member contributing and singing a verse. Other times a member may bring a song foundation and the final version is worked out in rehearsal. In the studio, the band prefers to keep their songs relatively short and tightly structured, but when performing live the band likes to expand their material in new and different directions. Says Holt, "There's a higher goal than just going from D to A and a lot should be said about giving what you've got to get to that higher place. We try to use our songs as vehicles to do that…some journeys are longer than others."
The band draws from their own personal experiences for song material but is also inevitably touched by everyday surroundings and pop culture. Lyrical fragments are snatched from overheard conversations, random TV programs, and late night hotel room sessions. Beyond the lyrics, other unusual tidbits are peppered throughout the album: spoken word rants, crowd noise, and, if you listen hard, Holt's own Dusty Rhodes impression. The band's tongue-in-cheek name is a nod to the eccentric Col. Bruce Hampton and his silly/serious notion of "going out". "Going out," means striking a balance between exploring the imaginative possibilities of music and simply not taking oneself too seriously. It's also fitting that there have been academic papers written on the word "outformation" which literally means "the process of leading the mind away from itself." Drummer Lee Schwartz recognizes that the tension between seriousness and playfulness is one of the keys to Outformation's music: "The songwriting is not about the meaning of life, but, then again, I wanted to leave it vague enough so that it's left open for interpretation."
An especially poignant song on the EP is the Mike Houser penned, 'Can't Change The Past.' The song was initially performed by the Athens band Barbara Cue, with Mike Houser sitting in on guitar and has never before been recorded. The choice for Outformation to include it was an easy one, says Holt, "It's our way of keeping that music going. It's music that needs to be heard."
'Valley Blue' is a tribute to Grady's former hometown of Chattanooga. The addition of Daniel Brown on fiddle embellishes the already catchy instrumental and makes it the perfect segue into the pop-tinged 'American Spirit'. Rounding out the album is the funky 'Maj Repus', the band's homage to a now defunct Athens-based festival. The addition of crowd noise sampled from said festival gives the song a rowdy live feel worth cranking up the volume.
Not content for too long, the band has already made plans to record their first full-length album at Nashville's Hum Depot. They've secured Widespread Panic's keyboard player, Jojo Hermann, to produce it and will have Eli Akins back as the engineer. Beyond that? Says Lee Schwartz, "We'll see. Years ago we tried to be a hair band." Adds Holt, "But I didn't keep my end of the deal."
Overflow Overflow is a modern pop rock band with a passion for music and ministry. They are a SC based band that put out their debut LP "Whats Missing" in June 2002 and are now in the studio with Scotty Wilbanks of Newsong, and Mac Powell from the group Third Day working on their debut album scheduled to be released sometime in the new year on Essential Records www.essentailrecords.com. Riverside Riverside formed in late 1999 from two other local Atlanta bands. They have played at such venues as Swayze’s, Velvet Underground and The Somber Reptile and with such bands as Sound Track Mind, Hot Rod Circuit and The Get up Kids. The sound they have developed is reminiscent of independent rock and emo while still delivering a strong “all American rock and roll” feel. Their first release “Epic Tales of Sorrow” showcased Riverside as the post-hardcore band that they were. However, they have now grown into an aggressive but melodic “boot kickin’“rock band. Their newest recording, Demo ottfour, serves up five strong rock tunes that offer lyrical sustenance and poetic maturity intertwined with intricate musicianship. The song writing is solid and energetic, pulling the listeners through the twists and bends of the heart of each track.
Each member brings to the table a history of different influences yet has been united in their love of independent music. Both its integrity and eclecticism has fueled their passion and can be heard in the synergy that these musicians display. Such classic artists as John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen can be felt in the songs craftsmanship and lyrical style while the assertiveness and energy of bands such as Chamberlain and Hot Water Music are apparent in the strength of the rhythm section. Jonathan’s vocals have a warm, soulful tone yet are powerful enough to contend with its dynamic ensemble.
Riverside plans to work harder than ever this year, performing, writing and honing their craft. If you live or find your self in the greater Atlanta area, go see these guys play.

Rizer Woodstock GA -- Progressive Rock band Rizer is currently finishing up their debut cd to be released in 2008 on Raging Storm Records. Formed in 2000 and originally called Nurtured In Purple, Rizer was first recognized by platinum recording artist Michael Sweet who expressed interest in producing with the band.
With so many genres in today’s music, for Rizer, Hard Rock Power Trio seems a simple enough tag. Self described as throwing down in the pocket funk/rock beats, POD to Rush. Their poetry gets pretty deep because it comes from the heart, but you might chuckle at a dorky outburst,
or the eclectic character of some of the songs. There is an articulate rock vocal delivery; yes you can hear the words. This band is a ground shaking live act with a clear, positive message that connects with many audiences.
Nick Washburn (guitars/vocals), Troy Winston (bass), and Jeremy Wolfe (drums) say that this is the most exciting chapter for the band with a full length debut in the works and big stages lining up on the calendar. The songwriting is stronger than ever, and Raging Storm Records is providing the stability and support. Watch for their debut cd set for 2008 release!
Rooke Atlanta based 5 member folk/alternative rock band, Rooke, was formed in 1989, emerging from a unique cluster of several singer/songwriters. The chief quality of Rooke's music has always been the folk and alternative roots that blend in the music and the trademark intricate four-part harmonies.
Royal 7 What is the best way to describe Royal 7? Why not describe them as what they are; an ambitious pop band, one not afraid to shake things up a little, and smart enough to inject just enough humor so as to provide a sneer and a wink, but not so much as to come across as cheesy.
The music is a blend of rock, pop, punk and hip hop with a touch of trailer park. The sound has been labeled "agitated pop" and "y'allternative." With their CD's selling out at shows and the "dirtbag" following continuing to grow, the future is looking ridiculously good for Royal 7.
ROYAL 7 is singer/songwriter Derek Cole, Mike Fogleman (guitar), John Barry (bass) and Chris Lynn (drums). Cole is a prolific songwriter whose songs have been featured on television and in feature films. ROYAL 7 have opened for I.C.P., Better Than Ezra, Cowboy Mouth and Unwritten Law.

In 1999, Derek Cole moved to New York from Atlanta and was focusing on being a songwriter for other artists, but recorded some of his new material that began to get the attention of labels and managers. The word spread about "the guy from the South," but Derek needed a name for the project and it came to him on the NY subway. "A kid was being very loud and begging for attention from his parents on the train one day and his little league jersey was number seven and his name was Royal," says Derek. "It was like he was being loud for me to see that because his parents were not studying him at all." From that, Royal 7 was started. Derek moved back to Atlanta in 2001 to put together a band and start playing out live in the area. The high energy show led to opening spots with I.C.P., Better Than Ezra, Cowboy Mouth, Nada Surf and Unwritten Law. Also, the group landed their song "Havin' a Bad Day" in the films "Bubble Boy" and "Kill Me Later" plus were featured on CNN during Music Midtown 2002.

Stankhooliganz Stankhooliganz oozed from an ass-pimple of a fat rat-bastard in September of 2004. They were musically molested and made to smell “it” by other nasty freaks like 24-7 SPYZ, Prince, Funkadelic, and Anthony Hamilton (go figure!) creating a new Afro-Punk sound of “Funk/Rock&Soul” music that will have you rockin’ and shakin’ yo’ ass at the same time. Stankhooliganz live show is “Hard scrambled eggs & pig’s feet on burnt toast” It is intense energy and gritty fun. Stankhooliganz stands alone in an era of warmed-over alt-rock, by-the-numbers punk and politely mechanical R&B. They merge so many different musical styles, from pop, rock, soul, reggae and metal. Stankhooliganz has created a new brand of music stinking up the Atlanta music scene with its brand of “jagged rocked-out soul.” They are off to a great start winning battle of the bands contests at Cj’s Landing, opening for “The Apostles,” playing benefit concerts, and gigging regularly at Six Atlanta and Cj’s Landing. Stankhooliganz is also currently working on their first album “The Blind Leading the Blind” due out in the summer!

State of Man A well-crafted rock sound and powerful live shows have gained Atlanta-based rock band State of Man a reputation for being “one of the East coast’s premier acts” (XM Satellite Radio).
The band's music combines driving guitars, soulful vocals, and syncopated bass and drums, resulting in a sound described by Kings of A&R.com as “powerful, yet soulful modern rock/alternative that sounds like a cross between Sevendust, Fuel, 3 Doors Down and Saliva.” State of Man’s full-length debut CD, “Lose Your Mind,” gained the attention of Atlanta platinum producer Rick Beato (Shinedown; I Nine; Vince Neil; Jump, Little Children; The Working Title; Flickerstick) and multi-platinum, grammy award winning producer Don McCollister (Sister Hazel, Indigo Girls, Third Day, Shawn Mullins), who each recorded tracks for their EP, "More Than Coincidence," and their forth-coming full length.
The strength of the band’s live show has lead to local and regional band competition titles as well as a reputation for being "One of the best live bands in the Southeast… period" (Southern Jam Online). Performing at venues and festivals across the nation with such artists as Live, Kid Rock, Stone Temple Pilots, No Doubt, Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd, Earshot, Better Than Ezra, Garbage, Silvertide and more, State of Man continues to build its fan base while completing new material for an upcoming release (Q1 2006). STEADLUR Steadlür, the latest rock vibration from Atlanta straddles that elusive, yet happy line between teenaged rebellion and being accepted by the masses with their self-titled Roadrunner Records debut. Steadlür are putting the "rock" back into rock band with their youthful aplomb. They're young, they're hungry and they're certainly not jaded and cynical. They're just ready to take over the world, one riff at a time.
Formed by Philip Steadlür and his brother, drummer Dallas Steadlür, in the Dirty South, Steadlür, which also features Tommy Steadlür on lead guitar and Daniel Steadlür on bass, got their start like most aspiring bands: by playing small shows at high schools, local dives and practicing in the garage. Steadlür’s main goal was always apparent: to have a good time playing music. Rock n’ roll is supposed to be fun after all, isn't it? Despite their hometown's status as an urban music center, Steadlür have managed to thrive and flourish as one of the few rock bands from the region. Philip sums the band's aura up, saying, "We're just a rock and roll band. We're good ol' American boys who love what we do and want to show we're thankful to be alive." While only Philip and Dallas are actually blood siblings, the rest of the Steadlür crew adopted the same last name, like brothers-in-arms as a show of solidarity.
The band’s debut was recorded in Alabama with Jason Elgin and mixed in Los Angeles. The album (and the band) cull influence from diverse sources, such as '90s alternative rock like Offspring and Weezer as well as '80s bands like Skid Row and Guns N' Roses, but Steadlür isn't following the trend of caking on the make up and shooting fireworks off their guitars. "We tend to turn heads around town," Philip admits. "People think, Who are those dudes? Since we like to draw attention to ourselves. We can be at an all-you-can-eat buffet and turn it into a party!" Dallas concurs with his brother, saying, "We can turn anything we're doing into a good time."
Indeed, Steadlür’s music follows that credo, as the band generates raucous riffs, memorable melodies and choruses that beg to be sung along to. Case in point? "My Mom Hates Me," a catchier-than-a-cold-in-winter anthem that gives off a feel-good, upbeat vibe but actually delves into the deeper issue of spoiled rich kids running rampant and terrorizing others, while their parents throw money at them. "Bumpin'," the first single, is more light-hearted fare, which the band admits is simply about partying, certainly a noble pursuit when you play an instrument for a living. "Angel (On the Wrong Side of Town)" is a surprising ballad that showcases the more serious and subtle side of Steadlür.
Dallas sums up the album, saying, "The record is definitely playful at times, but there is a depth to it. We will rely on our live show to paint the picture. I remember when Dave Navarro said something to the effect that if you hear something good when you listen to his records, you are going to see something good when you come to his show. We are like that."
The band’s first offering addresses all sorts of issues such as partying, relationships and life as the young band knows it. "We want to keep our music open to anyone who can relate to it, whether you're a 9-5 worker, 40-years-old or even 13 years old," muses Philip. Steadlür's music is that universal and clearly, there is something for everyone on this album. Dallas continues, "The record is fun, but we recognize that there's more to life than partying, sex or being pissed off about your love life. In the end, everything is nothing."
Philip encapsulates the essence of Steadlür by saying, "We don’t come from wealthy families. We’ve always had to work for what we have, and will keep working for it." And that's how career bands are made. With that attitude, infectious rock music and a positive attitude stocked in their arsenal, Steadlür have arrived.

Sullivan Street Band A Christian power pop-rock band that puts as much relevence in their music as their lyrics. Truly an inspiring and spiritual band. The passionate vocals and lyrics bring the instantly familar melodies to the front of the super tight rock arrangements. Imagine one part Foo-Fighters mixed with one part U2 with a little tabasco sauce. Add volume to taste and you've got Sullivan Street. One Christian band that should not be over-looked!
Swank Sinatra we specialize in robots and rock and roll!
Sweet Lucy Brown southern rock n roll.
Tar Beach A 6-Piece Pop-Rock Groove-Funk Fusion based out of NYC and Philly. With head bob-inflicting grooves, infectious melodies, and an energetic live show filled with improvisations and personality Tar Beach is quickly becoming one of the regions best kept secrets. An eclectic mix of instrumentation consolidated to form one wall of sound results in a sonic blend that seems different and fresh yet at the same time eerily familiar and comforting. That is Tar Beach. The Tar Beach live show is one which makes a true music lover rejoice; no Creed-inspired, fireworks-blasting light show, no Poison-esque glam-gear. Ask any fan and they will tell you that the most memorable aspect of any Beach show is the music and the emotion-packed energy the band channels through it. The Fifth Avenue Kick Real Rock N Roll.
the five foot flame Atlanta rock band with influences stemming from punk, new wave, progressive, and shoegazer.
the Flairs THE FLAIRS are a Canadian band preparing to take the world by storm with their catchy, hook-laden rock songs harkening back to the halcyon days of ‘80s metal and punk, sweetly flavored with a whole-lotta 21st century attitude. With the release of their second CD SHUT UP AND DRIVE and a US tour beginning in June 2006, THE FLAIRS will drive this point home.
After virtually growing up in popular Canuck band Tuuli – playing three US tours including sold out nights in L.A. and countless Canadian dates, showcasing at SXSW, fielding interviews from the likes of VH1 and Much Music Canada, and opening for such renowned bands as The Donnas, Disturbed, and rock legends Cheap Trick – vocalist/guitarist Dawn Mandarino and powerhouse drummer Jen Foster decided to form their own group with a more edgy and “in-your-face” sound.
The first seeds of THE FLAIRS were planted in the summer of 2002 when Dawn and Jen met guitar-slinging babe Gillian Hanna (Bif Naked), as they crisscrossed North America playing outdoor festivals and concerts. Finding common ground and a fast growing camaraderie, the three gals added Gillian’s brother Ryan on bass and THE FLAIRS were officially born.
THE FLAIRS attribute their unique sound to an amalgamation of their individual influences. Lead singer Dawn’s love for the Ramones and Jen’s command of ska-influenced punk in the vein of the Dance Hall Crashers mesh seamlessly with the Hanna’s passion for heavy guitar rock groups like Metallica and Guns ‘N Roses. Their respective tastes go hand in hand with the groups who initially sparked their imaginations like Veruca Salt, Nirvana, Garbage and Stone Temple Pilots. In the mix they have created a sound THE FLAIRS can truly call their own.
After creating a burst of new songs and locking themselves in a studio, THE FLAIRS recorded their self titled debut six-song EP which was released in November 2004. Much Music Canada instantly picked up the first video “Ready To Roll,” and the aggressive “You’ll Never Know” reigned as #1 Best All Time Pop Rock Song on the infamous indie band site Garageband.com. The songs from the EP are a magical blend of youthful spirit and undeniable talent by a group determined to unleash their vision on an unsuspecting public hungry for real living, breathing punk-colored hard rock with smart pop sensibilities.
Having created a healthy buzz across Canada as a forceful live act, THE FLAIRS constant touring has included a successful run with rawk legend David Lee Roth, highly praised performances at two consecutive Vancouver’s New Music West festival, and a sold out show at Toronto’s NXNE. In preparation for their winter 2005 six-week cross-Canada tour with notorious Toronto rocker Robin Black, Much Music TV picked up the band’s second video “Falling into Pieces,” which received frequent air play. During this tour, THE FLAIRS ruled Toronto’s prestigious Canadian Music Week, performing an intense energy-filled set expanding their already rabid fan base. They have since showcased at New York City’s esteemed punk rock venues, Los Angeles’ International Pop Overthrow Festival and headlined the ROCKRGRL Music Conference in Seattle.
THE FLAIRS spent the summer of 2005 recording new material for the album SHUT UP AND DRIVE and shot a video for their single, a brilliant spin on Skid Row’s “18 & Life.” The upcoming release will be distributed through Warner Music in Canada and Burnside in the U.S. (June 2006.) THE FLAIRS are currently shooting a video for their second single “Sorry 4 Lovin’ You,” released to coincide with the SHUT UP AND DRIVE TOUR which kicks off June 26th in Pittsburgh, PA. For a list of tour dates and other information regarding the SHUT UP AND DRIVE TOUR visit www.theflairs.com.

The Lo-Highs The LO-HIGHS came together in the fall of 2002 in Atlanta, Georgia. Their straight ahead rock with garage tendencies, is angular and energetic, jumpy and harmonic - always sure to invite talking loud and staying up late. The boys are a solid 3 piece, filling sets with original songs and the occasional eclectic cover. They have recently completed their debut EP “Whatever…” and are nearing completion of a full length CD to be released early summer.

The Mandrake Theory Having found their niche in Atlanta's rich music scene, The Mandrake Theory has successfully created an original rock sound that has turned thousands of heads and gained many fans. With a relentless live show that never lets a crowd down, The Mandrake Theory is quickly gaining attention as one of Atlanta's most promising up-and-coming rock acts.
Founding members Ryan Yunker and David Ljung began the band in early 2002 and helped mold it into what it has become today. Bassist Ross Arney was the next to join, followed by drummer Logan Kirsten. They soon unintentionally created a powerful friendship and bond that was the driving force behind helping them survive certain changes and events that would otherwise destroy most other bands. Considering themselves to have been given a second chance, they are taking nothing for granted and working to pursue the goals that drove them to play music in the beginning.
Frontwoman Candice Vermillion found a place in the band as they searched far and wide for the perfect vocalist after going through many previous singers. Bringing to the table a powerful soaring voice as well as a chilling scream that none soon forget, she quickly became the missing link to the band's sound.
From selling out Atlanta-area venues to rocking national airwaves, this young band is only on the rise. They are each confident that this is only the beginning, and their determination to succeed will prove it. Their diverse musical background helps to bring so much variety into the music they write. They have experiences from classical ensembles to jazz bands to metal bands. Influences range from nearly every musical genre.
Armed with intricate music, extremely marketable melodies, and very daring ideas, they are also defined by their outlook on the music industry, and what bands should be like to one another. They are all strong believers in the fact that musicians should coexist to help each other, pick each other up, and benefit from each other, not put each other down. Also armed with the weapon of being young, this band has been labeled by many as one to watch in the near future. The Mandrake Theory's songwriting continues to be a strength of the group, and is constantly improving. In the words of Billy Terrell (legendary producer for Frankie Avalon, Pat Benatar, Blood Sweat & Tears, Fantasia, & many more), The Mandrake Theory "doesn't need to be produced. It needs to be captured." And they were partly captured with the recording of a 3-song demo released in November 2006, recorded & mixed in part with Virtuo Studios and the band's own small home studio. That demo has reached the ears of many people in just a few short months.
Many people have asked, "What is the mandrake theory?" Simply put, it is an evolutional theory about the regeneration and evolution of human life. This band is a rapidly evolving entity in itself. They are constantly growing and evolving as a band as well as individuals. The Mandrake Theory is a group striving to be none other than themselves, and encourages individuality in many ways.
Currently, The Mandrake Theory is promoting themselves to anyone and everyone that they can, playing shows at top venues, and are gathering quite a following of dedicated and loyal fans of whom the band is very fond of and works to maintain a close connection with. They use a grassroots-approach, holding those who got them to where they are today very dear and always giving back to the fans and community in any way they possibly can. Having worked with various Atlanta-based charity organizations, they have helped to raise money for various charities in the Atlanta area, as well as organizing their own benefit shows for other causes. Optimistically looking forward to what the future will bring, they will not let up or let down. This quintet remains determined and will continue to turn heads, gain fans, and push through anything in order to reach their dreams and bring their music to as many people that they possibly can.

The Seraphix The Seraphix (pronounced seraph -fix) began to take form in 2001. Drummer Kevin Morris , former Synchro-Nine-Factor keyboardist Jason Hagood and vocalist Will (from Atlanta emo-core pioneers Cry For October and prog metallers Lost Breed ) began to forge a heavy handed darkwave sound that further evolved with the addition of guitarist Chris Ritchie, who was a vetaren of the L.A. goth scene, and bassist David Kiesey of the Burning Clocks in fall of 2002. They proceded to play the Atlanta club circut hitting The Masqurade, The Earl, and Nine Lives, playing with bands such as Catpower, The Subsonics, and Water Over The Damn. They recorded a 3 song demo with Bruce from Universal Overdose at Spaceland sounds at Black Box Studios, and then added guitarist Paul Wilcox in early 2004.
The Seraphix are committed to making music out of box, defying genres and pushing the boundries - with influences ranging from the cocteau twins to Opeth, they are building their own bandwagon

The Six Shot Revival It's been said, "It's easier to give birth than to raise the dead..."
In a world driven by the need to mass produce by way of cookie-cutter molds, the team of SIX SHOT REVIVAL have found it deep in their creative processes to deny the urge to mimic their surroundings through a successful attempt to prove, as in the days of old, that SOUL triumphs over polished, over-produced, systematically formulated insta-pop every time.
Inspired by bands that earned acclaim by way of their overwhelmingly infectious ability to move audiences young and old for the better part of fifty years, SIX SHOT REVIVAL has thoroughly shattered the notion that the best of the "rock-n-roll" genre has come and gone. Through the use of the same tools and tactics that brought songs to the listening public such as "My Generation," which gave a voice to the teenage angst of the sixties, to "War Pigs" and "Ace of Spades," which continue to define metal as we know it today, SSR has forced every person in their wake to reconcile with the reality that not only is rock-n-roll alive and well today, but is poised to once again excite a generation to the revolutions that it once did for generations previously.
Teaming with the visionary engineers at the acclaimed Atlanta recording house, Southern Tracks Studios, Tom Tapley (the bravery) and Steven Morrison, SIX SHOT REVIVAL's first e.p. is taking a jaded and cynical listening public by storm. Tune into this band's rise and join the one true rock REVIVAL.........
the untimely death of... The Untimely Death of... have been sweating it out inside the steel walls of a 10' by 10' practice space for the last 10 months. They have had to deal with their drummer moving 300 miles away from the band’s Gainesville headquarters. They’ve had to deal with singer/guitarist Jamie Armstrong’s absence during treatment for manic depression, following a mental breakdown in March of 2005. Through all this, they diligently crafted their songs through the relentless Florida summer heat, and sub-freezing winter weather. The Untimely Death of... still found time to road tested these songs in the classiest dives in the Southeast, and were met with gracious applause and much free beer. This trail of destruction, despair, and debauchery led them to Rob McGregor (Against Me!, Hot Water Music), who was signed on to record and produce their debut EP.
The Untimely Death of... has played in various clubs around central Florida and south Georgia, as well as playing 5 date tour in Scotland in July 2005. They have also appeared live on WRUF Rock 104 and WHHZ 100.5 in Gainesville. Their debut EP will be released on November 11th, 2005 and extensive touring shall follow in early 2006.
There is no stopping The Untimely Death of...
The Vacant Halls Foregoing the traditional four piece setup, The Vacant Halls boast a large sound as a trio which includes melodic instrumentation, moving percussion, and full vocal harmonies. The band will readily admit that even though they are all accomplished musicians, song writing comes first. As song writers, vocalist/bassist Adam James and guitarist Jeffrey Bianchi have been writing individually for many years; each with their own distinctive sound. Collaborating as a song writing duo, they draw from their individual styles to create an energetic sound with structured musical elements. All one needs to hear an example of this is to listen to the first song Adam and Jeffrey wrote, "My Big Mouth", a catchy blend of pop hooks, rock riffs, and musically informed rhythms. Combining first rate song writing with top-notch instrumental and vocal ability, The Vacant Halls will prove to be an entertaining act for all lovers of modern rock. Tim Brantley The first time you listen to Tim Brantley you will understand why this 24 year old Atlanta native has created a buzz in Athens and Atlanta areas. His music is unique and this is evidenced by his diverse influences including: Cat Stevens, Pete Yorn, Ryan Adams, Elton John, Third Eye Blind, The Beatles and Billy Joel. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Brantley played the piano at age 11 and mastered many other instruments including guitar, bass, drums, and harmonica along the way. Don't miss the next chance to catch him live where he is most at home.
A Chance audition in his late teens landed Brantley in the pop group "Lucky" with producer/manager Maurice Star (mastermind behind “New Edition” and “New Kids on the Block”). Tim also has opened up for country singer Mark Willis and hip hop duo “OutKast”. Critics classify Brantley's music as a unique blend of Americana, pop and alternative rock.
Whether in an underground bar in front of 15 people or in an arena filled with thousands, Brantley knows how to handle a stage. From the beautiful opening piano on “Angel” to the very emotional “Convenient”, with it's biting acoustic guitar, Brantley knows how to express a feeling through his songs...and how to do it well.

YOU
Forget everything else you've heard. The music of YOU rocks radio-friendly songs past their logical conclusion into uncharted territory. Guitars and keyboards swirl and crash over nasty drum grooves anchored by phat basslines. Over the top sail soulful vocals, clever rhymes, and complex harmonies that, somehow, you can whistle while walking down the street. Music this different isn't usually this listenable, and that is where YOU rises above the wreckage of the postmodern music era.
YOU sounds like no one else, mixing an old-school vibe with a 21st Century sense of misdirection and irreverence to create rockadelic-soul-hop. The music of YOU addresses age-old questions - love, tragedy, meaning. But it tries to find answers that are both honest and new while shedding the self-indulgent, all-important attitude that weighs down today's rock. The songs breathe through a classic sense of melody, harmony, and infectious hooks combined with fearless exploration of dissonance, electronic noise, trippiness, and foolishness.
YOU brings an explosive live show to the stage, a performance teetering on the edge of collapsing into itself like a black hole of musical energy. YOU has the musical chops and on-stage savvy of music industry veterans while retaining the playful attitude of the first time they picked up their axes. No pretension, no artifice - but plenty of rock star charisma.
The dichotomy that is YOU was born and raised in southern Indiana, explaining the strange wuzzle of innocence and maturity that the band projects. Songwriters Niespodziani and Peter Olson had known each other since elementary school, and after several bands they decided to give it one last try as students at Indiana University in 2000. In Bloomington they met guitarist Dalief Sonnicksen, keyboardist Eric Harlan Park, and drummer Question Mark Cobb, and they knew the quirky energy produced by this group was very different from anything they had heard before.
Seasoned on the tough Midwest scene that has little tolerance for original music, YOU fought the system to carve their own niche with constant touring throughout the region. Singles from BLOWING UP and BETTER LIVE received consistent spins on one of the biggest radio stations in Indiana, 92.3 WTTS, as well as play on regional college and community radio. YOU was featured on 2 consecutive "Live From Bloomington" compilation CD's produced by the Indiana University Union Board, and they left the audience breathless after a showcase at the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis.
BREAKING NEWS: YOU moved to Decatur, GA early in 2002, leaving confusion in their wake and searching for the mayhem in their future. The band has already been booked at a variety of venues from Buckhead to Little Five Points, and they performed for a crowd of 1,200 at their first Georgia gig - a St. Patrick's Day Festival in the Highlands.

Zac Brown Band When you first see Zac Brown in person you immediately get an infallible feeling that you’ve just encountered somebody very special.
Only in his mid-20’s, Zac possesses an uncanny aura -- in both his personality and in his music -- that is beyond his young years. It is this aura that easily draws people into Zac’s World; a world of jam-packed gigs where post-collegiate kids rub elbows with blue-collar bikers; a world of “chicken-fried” mayhem where fans toast the sky (domestic beer in hand) to certain parts of songs.
Zac’s love for the great outdoors, warm nights, cold beers, and people in general, comes through in his songs, which are one part personal and sentimental, and another part raucous and downright humorous. If Jimmy Buffet had a younger brother playing music in the Georgia wild, he might be Zac Brown. Zac’s style is acoustic-based, but don’t get the wrong idea, your jaw will drop as you bear witness to Zac’s frantic finger-pickin’, hand-thumpin’ nylon-stringed guitar solos.
Zac grew up in Cumming, Georgia, with 11 brothers and sisters. In school he performed as a chamber singer in a chorus ensemble that brought him to Germany, the Czech Republic and a stint at Carnegie Hall. However, it was in high school that Zac started writing his own songs and gigging out. He found instant song-writing chemistry with good friend, Wyatt Durrette, who has partnered with Zac in writing some of their best songs. Zac was soon opening for national headliners Shawn Mullins, Angie Aparo, and even played a private gig for the Governor of Georgia.
Zac has independently sold 5,000 copies of his first cd, “Far From Einstyne”, and 6,000 copies of his second cd, “Home Grown”. He’s a crowd-favorite and has been asked back repeatedly because of popular demand at events like Atlanta Braves games and the Rock Boat.
In 2004, Zac’s love for food and cooking led him to open his own restaurant, Zac’s Place, on Lake Oconee, GA. In Zac’s own words: “Basically, I wanted a cool, relaxed place where I could play music in front of a crowd whenever I wanted when I was home and not on tour. We record every show and give out cd’s to all in attendance.”
Almost immediately Zac fans showed up in droves at Zac’s Place. This proved to be another way for rabid fans to experience Zac. By stepping into Zac’s world in Lake Oconee, dining on his personal recipes, and kicking back listening to him by the lake, it was like living out one of Zac’s songs!
So, if heaven is having “your toes in the water and ass in the sand” or “a cold beer on a Friday night” and wearing “jeans that fit just right”, you’ll swear Zac Brown is your guardian angel.
