On Thanksgiving night, for the past fifty-seven
years, thousands of Atlanta area families have watched as the enormous tree
atop Rich's/Macy's at Lenox Square Mall brought to life with light. A lively
crowd of approximately 50,000, as well as the millions who caught it on the
live broadcast, enjoyed the electric performances this year. In their 2nd
consecutive performance at Atlanta's tree lighting, The Radio City Music
Hall Rockettes kick-started the night with a spectacular show. Also
performing were country sensation Jo Dee Messina and the Georgia based rock
band, Collective Soul. The tree was lit as Jo Dee Messina sang O' Holy Night
which was followed by fireworks that topped off the night. (You can still
catch the Rockettes perform their "Christmas Spectacular" at the Fabulous
Fox Theater through Sunday, Dec. 4th).
